Reflection

Growing up, I thought rain was the heavens crying. Today as I look outside to our 8+ inches of snow I know the heavens have heavy hearts. They cry for the families still here on earth, and they cry out in love for those who are welcomed back. Those who were taken from this world too soon are happy and healthy. They know no pain. They are receiving love from those who have waited so long to meet them. They are in a warm and safe place with our Heavenly Father. If those people can't be here with those they love then what better place than with our savior?

I'm sorry to the mothers who did not get to tuck their children into bed last night. I'm sorry to those who felt fear and pain. I'm sorry to those who will have to live with the memory of this day.

I cannot imagine what went on in that school or in the hearts of the parents waiting to hear about their child.

I am so sorry. I pray you find peace.

Motor Skills

Indoor activities are hard to come by. I'm new at this whole 'winter with a toddler' thing. Coloring got old fast today so I found a funnel and tape. It's not a cute pretty/trendy homemade toy but it will do. It's making Cash and mommy happy. He's really good at it too.

Pinterest is all fine and dandy with ideas but I don't have all the supplies for their suggestions here at home. I refuse to go but something every time we get bored.

Lets hope I come up with more ideas like this soon.

Mugshot Of Shame

This kid has been a handful of crazy today. This all occurred before 9 am this morning. Is this a taste of what is to come? Is this his first steps into the terrible twos?

Poop Time

Being a nurse I have seen poop of many shapes, colors, and sizes. Being a human I've seen my own poop and its many varieties. Yes folks, I fully admit to pooping. GASP.

Something I am not used to seeing is poop changing so often. Cash can go from rock hard marbles to squishy mush. If I can, I put him on the toilet at the first sign of poop. I've been doing this since he was about 6 months. When he is constipated its the only way he can poop effectively. It takes a lot of effort but it is worth it. If I can't get him to the toilet in time he can be miserable for a few days.

Since I have seen so many different kinds of poop from Cash I decided to do my research.

No worries mommies here is a link. I have found many sites that have answered my poop questions. Learning more about his poop and what is healthy and normal has helped me see how well he is eating. It's a good guide to gauge what he may be missing in his diet.

My advice: look at the poop. Don't just wipe it and dump it.

Good luck!

Case of the Icks

Yep, the icks have hit again. This time I was prepared. As some if you know, I use essential oils. Many if you have ridiculed me for this but I don't care. I still believe in modern medicine. I won't let Cash suffer because I think my 'voodoo' is better.

Cash has bad congestion and a fever. I gave him Tylenol and had out vaporizer going. Sadly, he still developed a cough. It was deep and painful. He almost threw up a few times from the force.

I had read in my Young Living material that eucalyptus is great on the bottom of feet to help with respiratory illness. I rubbed a few drops on each of Cash's feet. He stopped coughing after about 10 minutes. He didn't cough all night.

This morning he is still congested but no longer is it sitting in his chest! Yay! This oils is one I will keep stocked in my oil supply.

There are many other oils I use and I will have to share them on another post.

If you are interesting in ordering I can purchase at wholesale. Www.youngliving.com

I also add this oil to our vaporizer, my oil diffuser, baths, and on cotton balls around the house to freshen and to help keep our sinuses clear.
