Oh How Things Change

If you do not like change then do not have a child. If you do like change and are willing to have every day be different, new, and exciting then have a child. Having Cash has been a whirlwind of excitement and change. The 7 month mark has been a huge milestone for Cash. He can crawl, sit himself up, and his first tooth came in (bottom right). He has surpassed everything I imagined he would be when I was pregnant. He loves to chase after Squid. Poor kitty has to sleep in 'run' mode because he never knows when Cash is coming up behind him. I bought a baby gate for the stairs because of course he thinks the stairs are something he should be playing on. We thought we only needed 2 more gates but after seeing what this kid can do I am thinking we will need more than that.

He tried tofu for the first time today. It made me gag but he loved it. Good for him eh? (yuck). I have been making a lot of his baby food. I thought it would be tedious and a waste of time but it is so quick and fun. I love it. Since breastfeeding was cut short due to his milk/protein sensitivity making his food has been a great way to cope with the loss of that part of our relationship. Unfortunately making his food doesn't fix my 'saggy' problem. Ahhhh the joys of motherhood right?

Cash jibber jabbers constantly. He says mamamama, dadadada, and babababababa. So cute. We ask him all the time: Where is mommy, where is daddy, where is Squid - he will turn to look for us and smile.

We had our first visit to the Hogle Zoo. We bought a family season pass. Steven and I had so much fun watching Cash soak it all in. It was super cold and snowy when we went so we spent our time in the monkey and gorilla areas (inside). My brother Josh and his wife Veronica and their two amazing girls met us there. I had so much fun being with family. I can't wait for more adventures like that.

Yesterday we went to the duck pond. I cleaned out our bread stash and found some that had gone south. They must know lady with a stroller means meal time because they swarmed us. They were quacking and following us around. Cash thought they were interesting. He stared at them the whole time.

I love going on adventures with my little man. I hope that I can keep up the momentum as he gets older. I don't want him to remember his childhood in front of a TV. I want him to remember the time we spend together outside having fun.

I love being home. I thought throughout my entire pregnancy that I would go back to work full time. Boy how things change for the ones you love. I have developed quite a 'mama bear' attitude when it comes to my family too. I have always been an advocate for my family but now I am overly protective. All good mommies have their moments right?

March Birthday Madness!!

Holy cow! March is a busy birthday month. Here is how it goes for us.....

Our niece Allie starts off the month on the 9th. She turned 8! Her baptism will be on Cinco De Mayo. How exciting!!! My MIL and I took her shopping to find a birthday/baptism dress. I think she had a lot of fun. I know I did. Cash loved hanging out all day with her too. He just loves all his cousins.

Then Jack - my little brother - turned 10 on the 13th! He was up here visiting for his spring break. So we went to dinner Monday night, went to Ogden Tuesday to see Mae and Savannah, Wednesday morning I made him his favorite breakfast. Ham, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and pancakes! Yum! 

March 15th was my lovely Mother-In-Law's birthday. We won't say how old she is but I will say she DOES NOT look her age at all!! Connie is a great MIL. I hope she likes her gift! ;)

My beautiful mother turns....well....she has a birthday on the 19th. We will be in Saint George to celebrate with her! 5 whole days! We leave Sunday! I can't wait to see my fam again. 

Savannah my first niece (from Josh and Veronica) will be 5! OMG! Can you believe it!?!?! Her birthday is the 22nd. We gave her a super sassy skort and top! It was perfect for her. I hope I get a picture of her in it. 

The last of the month is a boy very special to me. His name is Squidrow Robinson. He will be turning 2 on the 23rd. He was my first baby. I think he is owed all the credit for pushing us towards having a baby. Without him we would still be without our Radical Casherole. 

So to make this easy on me......

Do you have a month full of birthdays like this?? We have a few throughout the year. It's crazy how our families keep growing and growing. I love it!!!!

P.S. Are you totally excited for St. Patty's Day? I am! A whole day dedicated to my favorite color and Corned Beef! I'm in heaven!

My Sleepers

 

My  men sleep in the exact same position. I have always loved how Steven sleeps with his hands above his head. He has always slept like this. It has never changed. The first time we saw Cash sleep he had his hands up. The nurses tried so hard to swaddle him with his arms down but he would fight until his arms came out of his blanket. 

Cash has Stevens eyes, nose, chin, round face, and cute little toes. He also sleeps just like his daddy. I love how much he is like Steven. 

I love my little family!

Cowboy Bob

This is my grandpa. He is Cash's great grandpa. I seriously love and adore this man. Today I was missing him. He lives in Richfield with my wonderful grandma. 2 whole hours away! Right after we told my grandma and grandpa we were pregnant my grandpa had a stroke. A stroke we never thought he could recover from. He was flown from Richfield to Provo where we met him in the Emergency Room. Seeing him that way broke my heart. He could only hug me with one arm. I remember praying he would be alright. I prayed that his dignity would remain intact and that he would someday meet my unborn child. Some may say this was a selfish thing to pray for. To pray for myself but life without him him in it would be a life where I am not fully myself anymore.

My grandparents were and still are to this day a huge example in my life. They love each other so much. They fight through their aging ailments to take care of each other. They are in love and devoted.

This man is in almost every single one of my memories. We lived with them until I was about 8 years old. I remember when we moved out. I missed them so much. We were only 20 minutes away.

Today I was looking at Cash and was hoping he could grow a little faster so I could take him to go see them. I have 3 more weeks till I can take him to Richfield. I can't wait!

To have my grandparents meet our baby boy is so very important to me. In 3 weeks my prayer will be answered.

They are both here to see my handsome little man. They will see me as a mother for the first time and will see how wonderful of a husband and father Steven has become.

Today I made rice pudding. Rice pudding is Cowboy Bob's favorite. I made it so that way I had 3 weeks to make it perfect so I can bring some to them when we visit. It turned out just as I remember my gma and gpa making when I was young. I think they will love it.

I am so blessed to have Bob and Janet in my life. Cash will be just as blessed. He may not get to know them for as long as I have been lucky to but at least he will feel their love - even if for only a short time.
